No, we’re not counting down the last few seconds of 2007 (although that’s right around the corner, too).  Take a look at those numbers again.  What’s next in the series? You guessed it: Six.

Six is big number around here, as all federal agencies must running IPv6 on their networks by June, 30, 2008.  Now is the time to get out your calendar and make sure that you can meet the established criteria of: 

  • Transporting IPv6 traffic from an external network to the core -- and delivering it to a subnet.
  • Pushing IPv6 traffic from an internal subnet to an external network.
  • Routing traffic around the core from one subnet to another.
